70 mothers lose their lives every single day during childbirth in India
Globally, lakhs of women and infants die every year due to pregnancy-related complications. In India, although the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) have improved, nearly 70 preventable deaths of pregnant mothers happen every single day during child birth. Short-staffed healthcare systems, lack of regular monitoring, early prediction of risk and active intervention are some of the key reasons. Although efforts have been made to integrate technology to solve some of these issues, the processes for health workers are still manual and inefficient.
SaveMoM- a regular monitoring and early risk prediction solution
SaveMom is an IoT based maternal care platform that provides continuous monitoring and AI-based early risk prediction. The solution includes a hand-held device called the AlloTricoder which is used by health workers to periodically record vitals of the pregnant woman at point of care. Allowear is a hand-held wearable used by the pregnant woman to continuously track certain health parameters. All data collected remotely from the devices, along with antenatal checkup records of the pregnant woman, is stored on the SaveMom portal. SaveMom’s AI-based decision support system processes all the recorded data and predict’s any risks in pregnancy in the first trimester itself! The solution also ensures customized interventions are made in a timely manner for the high-risk women which are also be tracked on its portal. The platform offers this holistic care to a pregnant mother and her child for 1000 days at only INR 1 per day for a woman!
